new SideRoller carry-on, which debuted in June 2002, is a unique
upright designed to glide virtually effortlessly, down narrow
airplane aisles. The six-wheel design consists of two
shock-absorbing SoftSpin™ wheels and four smaller, precisely located
side-rolling wheels that allow travelers to navigate tight, crowded
spots-even in elevators, shops, restaurants and especially airplane
aisles. The SoftSpin wheels feature the same kind of bearings as
in-line skates, making the carry-on exceptionally easy to maneuver
forward, backward, and even sideways. The SoftSpin wheels are made
of a soft polyurethane that makes them more absorbent than normal
in-line skate wheels.
For business travelers frustrated by bags that tip over too easily,
get stuck in doorways and aisles, and falter at curbsides, the
smooth, silky movement of the SideRoller should provide considerable
ease.
Sleek, Yet Durable
The SideRoller is light and sleek, yet rugged. The honeycomb frame
construction adds strength without adding unnecessary weight. A
durable 3000 Denier Polyester Fibreloc® is the fabric used in the
Ultra 3000Ô collection and in the new Silhouette 8, which launches
in January and will feature the newest SideRoller design updates.
And the same attention to this detail on the exterior extends to the
interior. Interior compartments and removable organizer help
travelers breeze through security checkpoints, since contents are
more easily visible by security personnel. Built-in suiter system
and cross straps secure clothes and help prevent wrinkling.
